We are an all-volunteer Historical Society and Museum, holding an Absolute Charter granted by the Education Department of the University of the State of New York, the governing body for such societies in New York State.

We are a Not-for-Profit charity with a 501(c)(3) status, granted by the Federal Internal Revenue Service.

From our Bylaws, our Objectives are: “…the discovery, collection, preservation, display and publication of the history, historical records and other data relating to the greater New Woodstock area and its environs.”

We have been appointed, in 2008, the Town Historian for the Town of Cazenovia.
